While writing down recipes one morning, I was inspired to make candy corn--in quilt form. I envisioned oranges and yellows on the front, and the three layers of candy corn on the back: white, yellow, orange.
The quilt came out relatively wonky on the front, which I could try to say was intentional, but wouldn't convince anyone, and it is so brilliantly bright that it could never pass for a fall quilt, but that's how it goes sometimes, no? I never aimed to be a perfectionist.
Caiden says it's hot enough here in the early fall that the bright yellow is fitting, and I tend to agree. But to be honest, I'm a little disappointed that my autumn quilt came out as non-autumnal as it did.
However, come winter, these cheery yellows and oranges will surely be a welcome sight, wonky or not.
